“VISION”
The Society For Veterans Entertainment (S4VE) aims to provide a safe and supportive platform for veterans to explore emotions and connect with others who share similar experiences. By utilizing entertainment, such as video, dance, music, film, theater and artist showcases, "S4VE" engages in positive morale lifting concepts for veterans trying to process trauma and other emotional challenges that may arise from time in service. We simply want to break the monotony of the veterans daily routines by offering inclusive outlets of fun, challenges, and educational venues among like-minded individuals.
Theory of Change
S4VE will establish a professional company of performers/creators who have served in the Armed Forces. This ensemble of 8-10 Black Artists Veterans will work together to produce an original a tourable live sketch comedy show and will also partner with established Black Veteran organizations to produce uniquely curated community conferences about healing trauma through the body and creative expression. S4VE’s Artist’s Task Force will experientially educate Black veterans, their families and communities about the new science supporting somatic-based approaches to healing acute, chronic and complex trauma.
